Whirling Chair Publishing, founder of the Tea, Toast and Ghosts Film Festival is hosting its 2nd annual ghost story nights; a 3 days international horror film event with a mixture of story-telling, films and live performances, all with a spooky theme. In the grand tradition of the master himself, MR James, we will be inviting our audience to cosy up to hear spine-tingling spooky tales read aloud.

We are looking for spooky stories that will chill the blood of our audience when read aloud; think MR James, Charles Dickens and Sheridan Le Fanu but in a modern style. There will also be a script-writing category and successful submissions will be read on the night and included in an e-book and hard copy anthology.

Length: Anything considered but preferably under 4,000 words. Remember, it needs to hold an audience’s attention when read aloud.

Payment: Royalties and one contributor copy
